What if the acts of another have contributed to the issues?

When considering if an act has been part of contributory negligence or not. It is important to assess whether another party has contributed to that act. For example if a party is required to carry out checks before works were undertaken. Whether they failed to do so, has acted, or failed to act. Have they contributed to the breach and/ or loss in any way?

Where another party has acted in a way which has contributed to an issue or loss. This is known as contributory negligence. This is often an important point to consider. Especially where several parties are involved in the same projects, contributing to the same end goal. This may reduce, or even completely remove the liability of another party.
